My Halloween costume!  Leeloo Dallas from ‘The Fifth Element.’
The shirt: Goodwill. $4.  It was a turtleneck that I cut up.
The pants: Wet Seal.  $15.  I drew the black lines on with a sharpie.
The suspenders: orange duct tape.  $5.  This was the most tedious, creative, and rewarding part of the costume.
The belt: Goodwill.  $3.
The boots: owned.  $0.
The hair: natural.  I used a LOT of hairspray and hair glue to twist sections into dreadlocks.
Multipass prop:  I made it by printing images of the multipass and glueing it to cardboard.  The second most tedious and rewarding part of the assembly.  :)
Total cost:  $27.
Happy Halloween!

What I did: splattered coffee onto paper, let it dry, turned it into what my brain saw in the coffee.  A fun exercise!  I call him ‘Edgar of Hats.’

The Normalcy of Weird

I’ve read a lot of interesting quotes about artists, about their weirdness, their sacrifices, etc.  The fact is, I think we’re ALL freaks.  That’s right, you’re a freak.  Yup.  You’re welcome.

Everyone has weirdness in them.  It’s just a matter of recognizing it, focusing it, refining it, and putting it to use.  Accept it, embrace it, go ahead and spoon with it.  Before anyone realizes what happened, something great will come of it.

Being weird isn’t weird at all.

Pinterest Has Found Me…

I was holding out.  Crossing my arms.  Shaking my head.

Then I gave in.  I’m now on Pinterest, pinning away!  It’s a work in progress, but I’ve got some pretty rad pins going on.
